A little about Denise…

Denise L. Beyerle is a second-generation Christian; her Mama was the first in the family to accept Jesus as her Savior. Denise's mom shared with her the good news about Jesus when she was 10 years old. Denise has heart for first-generation Christians and those who are one of the first because she has been there. She understands that learning to walk with Jesus without family to lean on for support can feel like drinking water from a fire hydrant.

What is a First-Generation Christian?

A first-generation Christian is someone who is among the first in their immediate family to follow Jesus. Without parents or extended family who have already walked that path, learning how to read the Bible, pray, understand Scripture, and live out a Christian faith can feel overwhelming.

Helping First-Generation Christians Grow in Faith

Over twenty years ago, Denise L. Beyerle created a Bible study called First Generation Christians and taught it at her church. The summer of 2025 after her Mama passed away and realizing how short life really is, Denise asked the Lord if there was something she should be doing. The Lord immediately brought to her mind the First-Generation Bible study that she created a long time ago and felt God wanted her to turn the first-generation Christian Bible study into a book! So now Denise has a website, blog, and newsletter just for first generation Christians while she is working on her book: First Generation Christians: What to Expect in Your New Walk with Jesus.

Denise has been married to Shawn Beyerle for over 18 years. They have one beautiful daughter. Denise enjoys taking walks with her husband and spending time outdoors. Denise and her family love to travel and see new places. Denise has a rescue dog named Marshall.

Denise's Background in Medical Social Work

Before becoming a full-time wife and mother, Denise earned my Master of Social Work degree and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). For over twenty years, Denise served patients and families in the medical field, helping them navigate life’s challenges with compassion and educating them on resources in their community.

Denise had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom for the past eleven years, investing in her family while continuing to grow in my faith and serve at her local church. Denise also enjoys encouraging others whenever God open the door to those opportunities.

A Passion for Biblical Discipleship

One of Denise's greatest passions is helping first-generation Christians build a strong biblical foundation. Denise believes first-generation Christians shouldn’t have to try to figure out the Christian walk on their own. There is so much to learn. Through blogs, newsletters, speaking, and Bible-based resources, Denise want to encourage first-generation Christians to grow in their faith, understand God’s Word, and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. Denise wants to help first-generation Christians start a new spiritual legacy that will positively impact generations to come.
