You can trust that God has your best in mind!
Earthly Father vs Heavenly Father
Maybe you have had a very stable childhood where your father was present and available to you whenever you needed him. Maybe you weren’t so fortunate, and you grew up in an unstable home, and your father wasn’t around much at all. Maybe you never knew your biological father.
Did you know?
Your relationship with your earthly father will significantly impact how you view your Heavenly Father. If your dad was reliable and dependable, then it may be easy for you to see God, your heavenly father as reliable and dependable.
If your earthly father was inconsistent, not supportive, and distant; you could think your heavenly Father has those similar characteristics. But that couldn’t be further than from the truth!
Your Heavenly Father
Your heavenly Father…
- is Reliable
- Unconditionally loves you
- always has your best interest in mind
- knows everything about you and loves you anyway
- is trustworthy
- is dependable

- How do you view your earthly father? What is he like?
CHALLENGE:
- Write down the names of God that spoke to you most.
- Write down any Bible verses that spoke to you about the names of God. Feel free to write those verses on an index card and place on your bathroom mirror.
- Write out a prayer to God and thank Him for that attribute and anything else you would like to say.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for loving me and choosing me to be a part of your forever family.
Thank you for being my provider, my battle fighter, the giver of peace, my righteousness, always present with me and my good shepherd.
Help me to see you for who you really are and cling to Bible verses that give me a better picture of who You really are. Please give me the discipline to start memorizing Your Word (if you haven’t done so already). Help me to know you better!
I pray all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
